Content NoteIncludes: Handwritten letter from Mrs Elsie Burningham, Private Scott's sister, stating that the condition of his grave was poor and asking for something to be done, 23 November 1960; letter from Regional Director to CWGC Director General, informing him that the new Vicar had been unaware of the Maintenance Agreement, and so they had become neglected, but that a Travelling Head Gardener would visit and clean the graves the following week, 9 December 1960; handwritten letter from Mrs Burningham to the Director General, saying that the condition of the graves had been poor for several years and that the responsibility of maintaining them should be taken away from the casual labourers, 30 December 1960; letter from A R C Prentis to Mrs Burningham, informing her that the Travelling Head Gardener had visited and left the graves in good order, 9 January 1961; handwritten letter from Mrs Burningham, agreeing that the graves had been tidied but the headstones were still not clean, 12 January 1961; reply from the Director General, informing Mrs Burningham that the headstones were cleaned on an annual basis and were due to be washed in February 1961, 3 February 1961.
