Dolan, CWGC Director-General, to the Secretary-General, CWGC Canadian Agency, explaining that the name of Gunner Richardson and other soldiers not initially inscribed on the memorial were added to addenda panels in alphabetical order by rank with the Forces or units added in full underneath, and that the Registers at the Commission’s offices and overseas would be updated to ensure that similar errors did not occur in the future, dated 21 December 1964; copy of handwritten letter from R.M. Richardson to John Matheson enquiring why Gunner Richardson’s name had not been added to the memorial, as he had died during the war, and why he had been directed to the wrong panels by members of the Arras Office, dated 22 January 1965; letter from N. Dolan to the Secretary-General, CWGC Canadian Agency, explaining that due to a misunderstanding between the officials who initially dealt with R.M. Richardson, the incorrect information regarding the location of Gunner Richardson was provided, and that steps were being taken to supply the Commission’s offices at Arras and Ypres with registers containing the correct information regarding panel numbers, dated 11 March 1965.
