Content NoteIncludes: Handwritten letter from Mr W S Young, the casualty's father, containing the details of his son's death as written to him by the commanding officer, Edgar Middleton [rank unknown], 3 March 1919; internal memorandum initialled by 'J R D' and 'H F C' [most likely Colonel Henry Francis Chettle, IWGC Assistant Secretary], debating which of the following options to take in commemoration Second Lieutenant Young: a) separate memorial in North Road Cemetery, b) a special memorial in a cemetery for the missing, or c) the Arras Flying Services Memorial, and deciding upon option (a), 19-20 May 1924; press cutting from The Times, describing the unveiling of the headstone to the memory of Second Lieutenant Young and quoting the inscription, 19 April 1933.
