Content NoteIncludes: Handwritten letter from Mrs Harriett Millar to the Directorate of Graves Registration and Enquiries, with the information that the arrangements for her husband's funeral had not been made by her [presumably instead by the military authorities], 31 March 1920; letter from the IWGC Secretary to Mrs Millar, asking whether she desired a cross or religious emblem to be engraved on the headstone, as the form returned by her had not been clear, 2 June 1933; handwritten letter from Mrs Millar to the Secretary, stating that she did not wish for a cross to be engraved, 19 June 1933; handwritten letter from Miss Mabel Millar, the casualty's daughter, explaining that her mother had died, and seeking permission to add an inscription to her mother's memory on the Commission headstone, 5 May 1941; letter from F Tyrrell, IWGC Secretary, giving consent to the additional inscription and enclosing a copy of the Commission standard alphabet for the use of the stonemason, 13 June 1941.
