Lockyer, Town Clerk, Borough of Acton, informing the IWGC Secretary that the grave of Driver Grattidge was located in area levelled by the Council the year prior and that the resulting lawn was being maintained, dated 10 September 1953; copy letter from William Yates, MP, Shropshire, to the IWGC requesting confirmation that Driver Grattidge was buried in Acton Cemetery, dated 11 August 1958; letter from the IWGC Secretary informing William Yates that Driver Grattidge was buried in a common grave in Acton Cemetery that was left unmarked, as the Commission were unable to erect headstones on such graves and because the area occupied by this grave was levelled and made into a lawn by Acton Corporation, and that he was commemorated on a Screen Wall Memorial, dated 19 August 1958.
