Description	File of correspondence regarding the marking of the grave of Lance Corporal Frank Cooper in Paddington Cemetery. A standard Commission headstone was offered to the next of kin, in order to adequately commemorate the casualty, but this letter was returned to the Commission. The local authority was then contacted and consented to the erection of a Commission headstone over the grave of Lance Corporal Cooper.
Content Note	Includes: Typed letter from A R C Prentis to Mr J R Cooper, informing him that the private memorial marking Lance Corporal Cooper's grave bore no reference to his service details, and offering a Commission headstone which would provide adequate commemoration, 23 June 1960; copy of a letter from the Regional Director to the Director General, explaining that the local authority had given consent to the erection of a Commission headstone, 5 August 1960.
