DescriptionFile of correspondence concerning Lieutenant Paul Victor Dornonville de la Cour and Captain John Vincent Aspinall, who are both commemorated on the Arras Flying Services Memorial, France. Correspondence concerns the marking and recording of the graves believed to be of both men in Doullens Communal Cemetery Extension No. 2 and with Lieutenant de la Cour's widow requesting for a photo of the grave which was sent and with his Danish father regarding the personal inscription on the headstone. Later correspondence concerns request in September 1922 for both graves to be exhumed as it was believed they had been wrongly attributed and were in fact of Lieutenant F.L. Mond and Lieutenant E.M. Martin of 57th Sqdn., RAF. The parents of Mond and Martin attended the exhumation and it was concluded that the graves were of Mond and Martin who were given headstones in Doullens whilst de la Cour and Aspinall were commemorated on the Arras Flying Services Memorial.
