Content NoteIncludes: Handwritten letter from casualty’s sister requesting a photograph of the grave on behalf of their parents who were living in South Africa and providing coordinates of the grave, dated 7 October 1916. Internal note explaining that the personal inscription to be inscribed on Bourke’s grave had been sent in by his father, dated 17 January 1924. Copy note written by Sir Fabian Ware explaining that he knew Bourke’s father during his time in South Africa and that is difficult to carry out Mr Bourke’s wishes as the grave was already planted and being cared by the Commission, dated 24 October 1927. Letter from Ingpen advising on action to take in response to the will of the late Mr Bourke, dated 14 November 1927.
