File of correspondence regarding attempts to locate the grave of Captain David Geoffrey Corrie Rutherfoord in Mesopotamia in order to provide a photograph for the casualty’s sister and later correspondence regarding the details of Captain D.G.C. Rutherfoord, Captain A.F.C. Rutherfoord, and Major T.C. Rutherfoord in the Register of Those Who Fell During The Great War. Correspondence with Captain David Geoffrey Corrie Rutherfoord’s sister regarding request for a photograph of his grave and explaining the difficulties of the work undertaken in photographing graves in Mesopotamia, later resulting in the Commission being unable to locate his grave. Correspondence with the sister of Captain A.F.C. Rutherfoord and Captain D.G.C. Rutherfoord, regarding the incorrect spelling of their names in the Register of Those Who Fell In the Great War and the Commission agreeing to amend these errors.

Includes: Handwritten letter from Captain D.G.C. Rutherfoord’s sister expressing gratitude for information regarding position of the grave and requesting a photograph, dated 14 October 1916. Letter from the next of kin of Captains Alred Fletcher Corrie Rutherfoord. and David Geoffrey Corrie Rutherfoord and Major (now Lieutenant Colonel) Thomas Corrie Rutherfoord regarding her brothers who fell during the First World War and the recording of their details in the Register of War Dead, dated 19 May 1936.
