Main topics include an enquiry received by the Commission from the brother of Private Tardent wishing to trace the location of the grave or place of commemoration of both men. Response from Commission addressed to Mr Thompson at Australia House with information to pass on to Private Tardent’s brother.
Content NoteIncludes: Internal note explaining that although the 42nd Battalion’s Ledger recorded Private Tardent’s name and details, no burial details were given and although it was confirmed Private Tardent was in action around the area of Warneton on the date of his death, no trace of his grave was found when the Army Grave Service were working in the area later on, dated 17 July 1962.
