Description
File of correspondence regarding the grave of Driver Arthur Wadsworth in Middleton Junction (St. Gabriel) Churchyard, United Kingdom. Main topic concerns the next of kin's request to erect a private memorial to replace the Commission headstone as there were other members of the family buried in the same grave. Response from the Commission acceding to the next of kin's request to erect a private memorial on the grave but advising that the Commission headstone should not be placed flat on the grave and asking if Driver Wadsworth's name be added to the private memorial. Response from next of kin stating that they wished for their parents' name to take precedent over that of Driver Wadsworth. Correspondence addressed to Chief Administrative Officer from Northern Area regarding visit to grave in July 1956 and that the Commission headstone to Driver Wadsworth would be stored once removed.
