Letters from E.C. Lillie and W.E. Kernot (the uncle and father of Private Kernot, respectively) enquiring about the location of the casualty's grave, with E.C. Lillie additionally requesting details of Gunner Wilfred Allen Gibson's grave (another nephew). Later correspondence involves arrangements for W.E. Kernot, his wife, and his surviving son to visit the cemetery where the casualty was buried.

Includes: Handwritten letters from E.C. Lillie and W.E. Kernot, including a letter from W.E. Kernot addressed to Sir Fabian Ware. Correspondence between Lieutenant-Colonel F. Higginson and B.S.C. Greene discussing the family's visit to France. Gunner William Alfred Gibson is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
