File of correspondence regarding Driver Peter Ward, buried in a private grave in Brookwood Cemetery, United Kingdom. Main topics include request from the widow for the Commission to erect a headstone for her husband and correspondence regarding the objection by the London Necropolis Company for the marking of the grave by headstone only as their regulations made it essential for the section in which Driver Ward is buried for graves to be enclosed by a kerb. Correspondence concerning arrangements made between the Commission and F.G. Relph to construct a headstone and kerb for Driver Ward's grave.
Includes: Tender document signed by F.G. Relph, stonemason, for the construction of one Whitbed Portland headstone and a kerb, dated 12 January 1938.
