Description	File of correspondence regarding the grave of Gunner George Feast in Steyning (St. Andrew) Churchyard, United Kingdom. Main topics include proposal from the next of kin to erect a private memorial over the grave, with later request for the Commission to repair the kerbs which had become broken. Response from Director-General advising why it was not possible for the Commission to maintain and repair private memorials. Further request from the next of kin for the Commission to repair the memorial with response advising that the widow's details could be added to the bottom of the personal inscription on Gunner Feast's headstone. Correspondence concerning another request from the next of kin for a cement base to be constructed in order to place a flower vase on the grave.
Content Note	Includes: Handwritten letter from Vicar Ernest W. Cox on behalf of Gunner Feast's daughter, explaining that the widow had died and been buried with Gunner Feast and that the daughter requested to erect her own private memorial on the grave, with sketch showing proposed position of kerbs and CWGC headstone, dated 28 September 1936. Information leaflet for the Collegiate Church of St. Andrew, Steyning, dated c. 1920. Typed letter from Gladys Marr, daughter of Gunner Feast, requesting the Commission to repair the kerbs on Gunner Feast's grave, dated 4 February 1963.
