Content NoteIncludes: Handwritten letter from Mary Briton of the Imperial Lady Workers enquiring into the grave locations of Captain Bradbury, Lieutenant Maund, Lieutenant Campbell, Driver Lawn and Corporal Carnham, who were killed in action in the roadside field at Nery Compeigne on 1 September 1914 and subsequently buried by L Battery, Royal Horse Artillery, dated 24 January 1923. Copy letter of response from the Commission explaining that Bradbury and Campbell were buried in a vault in Nery Communal Cemetery Extension and no information regarding the graves of Maund, Lawn and Carnham had yet been received, dated 31 January 1923. Handwritten letter from Katherine Brewster notifying the Commission that an artillery officer had visited Nery Communal Cemetery and reported that Bradbury’s grave was in need of attention, dated 31 August 1937.
