Harrison died of wounds while at Croxteth Hall Auxillary Hospital, and enquiring whether kerbing could be placed around the grave, 13th October 1929; with reply from IWGC to advise that it is not the practice of the Commission to place kerbs round the graves, but that the grave will be cared for in perpetuity, 5th December 1929; letter from the Agent General for Tasmania to the IWGC advising that Mr Charles Harrison has contacted them about his brithers grave and asking whether kerns could be installed, 17th September 1930, with reply from IWGC advising that it does not surround war graves with kerbs but providing assurance that the grave is well maintained, 11th October 1930; letter from the Captain Sir Donald Simpson, KBE, Honorary Secretary of the British Empire Service League to the IWGC, with copy of letter he recieved from Mr. E.V. Raymont, General Secretary of the R.S.S.I.L.A, with complaint from Lt. Harrison's sisters about the neglect of their brothers grave, 2nd May 1940, with reply from the IWGC advising that the grave has been inspected by the Superintedent of the cemetery and is in good order, 6th June 1940. |
