Handwritten letter from Bombardier Leggett’s brother explaining that a wooden cross had been erected over the grave six years previously and had since fallen into disrepair, enquiring whether a replacement headstone would be erected, dated 18 June 1929. Handwritten letter from casualty’s brother confirming that Bombardier Leggett had been buried in a family grave which was marked with a permanent headstone and that he and his father had had trouble with the Cemetery Authorities who had prohibited all wooden memorials, dated 5 July 1929.
