Finance committee business; approval of proposal to commission mosaic design from R. Anning-Bell for interior of memorial chapel, Jerusalem cemetery; rejection of proposal to use small cross designed by Sir J. Burnet in small UK cemeteries; request by Sir R. Blomfield that Commission should persuade Ypres authorities to revise building line in street approaching Menin Gate; authority to place contracts for further headstones; gift of land for cemetery by Indian in East Africa; architectural treatment of Indian cemeteries in East Africa where position of graves was unknown, and design for central memorial by Sir E. Lutyens; site for commemoration of Indian Merchant Navy personnel; arrangements for registration of graves and erection of headstones in Persia (Iran); decision to erect separate memorial to those missing in Asia Minor (Turkey); treatment of Indian cemeteries in Iraq; staff appointments; approval of designs for commemorative plaques on Egyptian Labour and Camel transport Corps memorial, paid for by those units; revision of staff rates of pay; commemoration of British war dead by Swiss Caribineers, Vevey; public lecture by F. Ware; publication and sales of cemetery registers; decorations awarded to Commission staff.
