Matters arising from the Minutes of the 438th Meeting
Refers to letters received form the Italian Minister of Defence and Italian Ambassador in London regarding the ceremony at the Italian Plot in Brookwood Military Cemetery on 9th June 1960; details of the Director-General’s visit to Struma Military Cemetery and other sites in Greece, Turkey, Israel and Cyprus during tour of in the Southern Region; maintenance of Commonwealth war graves located in civil cemeteries in Denmark.

Membership of the Commission
Appointment of Lieutenant General Richard Goodbody as an Adjutant General and member of the Commission, who had succeeded General Hugh Stockwell.

Inspection tours in the United Kingdom Region by the Secretary and W. Wynne Mason, Director of External Relations and Records.

Report of the 483rd Meeting of the Finance Committee
Expenditure for the supply of a Cross of Sacrifice for Montgomery (Oakwood) Cemetery Annexe; maintenance work at Vlamertinghe New Military Cemetery and Niederzwehren Cemetery; maintenance and construction at Sofia War Cemetery.

Membership of the Joint Committees
Appointment of Mr Alan Watt, Australian Ambassador at Bonn as Commonwealth Honorary Member of the Commonwealth-German-French Joint Committee; appointment of Dr C. E. Beeby, New Zealand Ambassador at Paris, as Commonwealth Honorary Member of the Commonwealth-French Joint Committee; appointment of Mr B. D. Zohrab, Counsellor, New Zealand Embassy at Tokyo, as Commonwealth Member of the Commonwealth-Japanese Joint Committee.

Damascus Indian War Cemetery, United Arab Republic
Approval of the proposed removal of the First World War burials and memorials from Damascus Indian War Cemetery, due to municipal development that was to be convert the site into a public park, to Damascus War Cemetery.

Maintenance of Commonwealth war graves in East Africa
Arrangements for the maintenance of Commonwealth war graves in Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika under Instruments of Agency.

Authorisation for Brigadier Croxton Sillery Vale, Regional Director of the Northern Region, to complete the agreement concerning the connection of a new drain to the Commission’s property in Arras.
