Retirement of Lord Courtown and Sir Frederic Kenyon
Announcement of retirement of Lord Courtown of the War Office and also of Sir Frederic Kenyon, the Commission’s Artistic Adviser since 1917.
Gibraltar Agency
Mentions that that since the termination of Major G.J. Forrest's service in Gibraltar, the Secretaryship of the Commission's Gibraltar Agency had been carried out by Lieut.-Colonel E.D. Huggett, R.E., up to 9 October 1947. As from the 10th October Major G.A. Nichols, R.E. had been appointed to act in that capacity.
Anzac Agency
Mentions the watercolour of the design for Springvale War Cemetery, which had been sent to the Vice-Chairman by Brigadier Brown.
India and South East Asia District
Mentions that Taiping Military Cemetery had been taken over by the Commission on 15 October 1947 and was the first cemetery to be handed over by the Army in the Commission’s India and South East Asia District.
Ceremonies at Brookwood Military Cemetery
Mentions ceremony held on 27 October to commemorate the Czechoslovak National Day, (28th October) and also the French ceremonies held on All Saints Day at Brookwood and at the French graves in Kensal Green (St. Mary’s) Roman Catholic Cemetery.

Remembrance Day
Refers to Vice-Chairman’s broadcast and the memorial service at Westminster Abbey on 10 November. The Commission had been represented by Major Kinnear at the Annual Service for Seafarers at the Mercantile Marine War Memorial on Tower Hill. General Vanier had once again laid a wreath on the Commission's behalf in Paris whilst General Maton had done the same in Brussels.
Japanese Graves: Anzac Agency’s Area
Discussion regarding the maintenance of Japanese graves situated in Anzac Agency’s area and resolution that the Commission, if the Government of Australia request them to do, are prepared, where practicable and subject to review from time to time. to undertake, through the Anzac Agency, the maintenance of Japanese graves of the War of 1939-45 situated within Australia and its territories, at the cost of the Government of Australia.
Examination of Sketch Designs for Cemetery Construction
Comments regarding designs submitted for Oxford and Cambridge Royal Air Force cemeteries, as well as placing of flowers and incorrect position of Stone of Remembrance in Durban (Stellawood) Cemetery. Includes resolution for approval of the following sketch designs and authorisation to consider and accept tenders for construction:
(a) Mr Edward Maufe, A.R.A., for Oxford Royal Air Force Cemetery and Cambridge Royal Air Force Cemetery.
