Minutes of the last meeting approved.
The purpose of the Meeting was to give the necessary authority to the Vice-Chairman, and the staff of the Commission for carrying on the work if it was found difficult to call meetings.
The Vice-Chairman had been invited by the War Office to organise, as Director-General, the Directorate of Graves Registration and Enquiries both at the War Office and in the field as a new department, financially and administratively independent of the Commission.
The minutes include transcripts of letters from Sir Fabian Ware to Dr Bourwieg and Dr Gaus regarding suggested reciprocal undertakings to maintain the British graves in Germany and the German graves in the United Kingdom.
Also discussion with regard to Italy, arrangements for Commission staff serving with the Armed Forces, and resolution granting authority to the Vice-Chairman to take any steps deemed necessary for carrying on the work of the Commission subject to any expenditure on the Finance Committee.
