Main topics include: details of his personal history, including details of his father's apprenticeship as an engineer in Johannesburg, South Africa and work in rivetting iron crosses for the graves of British soldiers killed in the Boer War; an account of his father meeting Rudyard Kipling; personal feeling towards his work and cemeteries; visits to Libya, Egypt and Turkey to photograph cemeteries; brief account on the history of the CWGC; reference to Kohima War Cemetery and the local supervisor there (Sammy Mezhur, a Naga tribesman).
