Minutes of the previous meeting were agreed and signed
1. Consideration of Vice-Chairman’s report No.60 of expenditure authorised under Resolution 3 (1) of the 54th meeting of the Commission, with the resolution that this be accepted
2. Consideration of a report by the Director of Works re the consideration of tenders for the supply, engraving and transport of 111 headstones in Nottingham General Cemetery, with the resolutions that the tender by Messrs Low Giddings, Limited be accepted at a sum of £314.10s.0d, that a sum of £31 be expended to meet the cost of contingencies and that a sum of £31 be expended to defray the cost of engraving personal inscriptions on the said headstones pending the receipt of remittances from the next-of-kin
3. Consideration of a report by the Director of Works re the consideration of tenders for constructional work to be carried out in Greenock Cemetery, with the resolutions that the tender by Mr William Scott be accepted at a sum of £212.10s.0d, that a sum of £21 be expended to meet the cost of contingencies and that a sum of £10 be expended to defray the cost of a bronze sword to be affixed to the War Cross in said cemetery
4. Consideration of a report by the Director of Works re the transport and erection of tablets in Gallipoli, with the resolution that a sum of £281.5s.0d be expended to defray the cost of transport from Constantinople, handling and erection of 2250 tablet headstones in Gallipoli cemeteries
5. Consideration of Resolution No.4 of the 57th meeting of the Commission, a report by the Director of Works and a tabulated statement re the consideration of tenders in relation to Contract 1923 “P” for the construction of 30 cemeteries in France, with the resolutions that the tender by Messrs Van Velthem, Lindekens and Co be accepted at a sum of Francs 1,840,627.39, that a sum of Francs 185,000 be expended to meet the cost of contingencies and that a sum of Francs 160,000 be expended to defray the cost of constructing low enclosure walls not exceeding 3 feet in height around the undermentioned 6 cemeteries and that the necessary exchange to cover the Commission’s liabilities under the proposed contract be purchased as and when advised by the Treasury
6. Consideration of a report by the Finance Department re estimates of expenditure by the Commission in the United Kingdom between 1923 and 1924, with the resolution that a sum not exceeding £2,000 be expended to defray the cost of printing cemetery registers by H.M Stationary Office
7. Consideration of a report by the Principle Assistant Secretary re an increase in the salaries of Lieutenant Colonel C E Hughes (Deputy Director of Works) and Captain Vickery (Secretary and Accountant), with the resolution that their salaries be increased from £900 and £550 to £1000 and £600 per annum respectively
8. Consideration of a letter by the Land and Legal Adviser re a motor accident at Etricourt, with the resolution that an overall sum of £50 be given to the dependents of the deceased men killed in the accident at Etricourt
