Consideration of Report No.55 of expenditure. Resolution to accept the report.

2. Administrative expenses of the Commission in Egypt
Consideration of report from Finance Department regarding the administrative expenses of the Commission in Egypt for the 6 months ending 30th September 1923. Resolution to approve the expenditure of £2800 on administrative expenses of the Commission in Egypt.

3. Tenders for supply of the headstones for Towcester Road Cemetery, Northants.
Consideration of report from Director of Works regarding the erection of Headstones in Towcester Road Cemetery, Northampton. Resolution: to accept the tender of Messrs. Low Giddings, Limited, for the supply, engraving, transport and erection of 112 headstones for the sum of £266.2s.4d.; to approve the expenditure of £26 for the cost of contingencies; and to approve the expenditure of £26 for the engraving of personal inscriptions pending the receipt of remittances from the next of kin concerned.
4. Tenders for supply of headstones for Botley Road Cemetery, Oxford
Consideration of report from Director of Works regarding the erection of Headstones in Botley Road Cemetery, Oxford. Resolution: to accept the tender of Messrs. E Harris for the supply, engraving, transport, and erection of 143 headstones for the sum of £349. 15s.1d.; to approve the expenditure of £35 for contingencies; to approve the expenditure of £35 for the engraving of personal inscriptions pending the receipt of remittances from the next of kin concerned.

5. Tenders for supply of headstones for Welford Road Cemetery Leicester
Consideration of report from Director of Works regarding erection of headstones in Welford Road Cemetery, Leicester. Resolution: to accept the tender of Messrs. Low Giddings Limited for the supply, engraving, transport, and erection of 91 headstones for £219. 3s. 2d.; to approve the expenditure of £22 for contingencies; and to approve the expenditure of £22 for the engraving of personal inscriptions pending the receipt of remittances from the next of kin concerned.

6. Tenders for constructional work to be carried out at Hove Borough Cemetery
Consideration of report from Director of Works regarding constructional work to be carried out in Hove Borough Cemetery. Resolution: to accept the tender of Mr C F Bridgeman for constructional work for £355. 14s. 10d.; to approve the expenditure of £36 for contingencies; and to approve the expenditure of £10 for the supply of a bronze sword to be affixed to the War Cross in this cemetery.

7. Tenders for supply of 10727 headstones for France and Belgium
Consideration of report from Director of Works submitting tenders for the supply and engraving of 10727 Headstones to be erected in 47 cemeteries in France and Belgium. Resolution: to accept the tenders of the firms whose names are set out in Schedule C attached to the report; to approve the expenditure of £22,500 to meet the Commission’s liabilities under the proposed contracts, including the cost of transport of headstones to Dover Harbour; to approve the expenditure of £800 for the cost of contingencies; and to approve the expenditure of £4000 for the engraving of personal inscriptions pending the receipt of remittances from the next of kin concerned.

8. Tenders for construction of Memorial to the Missing at Cape Helles
Consideration of reports from Director of Works regarding the construction of the Memorial to the Missing at Cape Helles. Resolution: not to place a contract for the construction of the Memorial to the Missing at Cape Helles with Mr Kendros; to accept the tender of Messrs. Sir John Payne Gallwey, Limited, for the construction of the memorial for £37053; and to approve the expenditure of £3700 for contingencies.

9. Tenders for constructional work to be carried out at Jerusalem Cemetery
Consideration of report from Director of Works regarding constructional work to be carried out at Jerusalem Cemetery. Resolution to accept the tender of Messrs de Farro, Sarafend Cantonments, Palestine, for constructional work to be carried out at Jerusalem Cemetery for £E42162.553, and to approve the expenditure of £E6300 for the cost of contingencies and the supply of panels containing carved badges of the regiments represented in the cemetery.

10. Tenders for supply of War Crosses for Jerusalem, Ramleh and Haifa
Consideration of report from Director of Works regarding the supply of three Great War Crosses for Jerusalem, Ramleh and Haifa Cemeteries in Palestine. Resolution to accept the tender of Messrs J&H Patterson for the supply of three Great War Crosses for £1136. 13s. 4d., and to approve the expenditure of £450 for the cost of the supply of 3 bronze swords to be affixed to the crosses and for their transport to their respective sites.

11. Treatment of isolated graves in Communal Cemeteries in France and Belgium
Consideration of report from Director of Works regarding the cost of constructing concrete curbs round isolated graves in communal cemeteries in France and Belgium. Resolution to approve the expenditure of Francs 200,000 for the cost of constructing the concrete curbs.

12. Ex-enemy graves in Egypt
Consideration of statement made by the Chairman on the subject of enemy graves in Egypt. Committee ordered the papers to be laid on the table.

13. Memorial to the Missing of the East African Forces in Uganda
Resolution to approve the expenditure of £275 as a contribution towards the cost of the erection of a Memorial to the Missing of the East African Forces in Uganda.
