consideration of report by the Inspector of Works, Italy, with recommendation that the construction of cemeteries in Italy be thrown open to tender of Italian firms; that the employment of local Italian labour be authorised where necessary; that expenditure for the purchase of transport, spare parts and running expenses up to value of £10,000 be authorised; and that the Inspector of Works, Italy be authorised to place headstones on isolated graves in Italy.

7th Finance Committee Meeting:
consideration of a report by Mr Box regarding the Australian Government's proposals as to the construction of the cemeteries in Gallipoli, and recommendation that the work be undertaken on the lines set out in the report, with approval of the establishment and salary of the required staff (including propsoal to appoint Captain Hughes as Inspector of Works and Mr. Keesing as Sub-Architect), the expenditure for the purchase of transport, stores, huts, materials and rations, and the employment of local labour where possible.
consideration of the unit cost per grave for the construction of cemeteries in France, Belgium and Italy, including reference to a design of a cemetery with 73 graves which included a Stone of Remembrance and a Cross of Sacrifice, which the Committee found absurb (discussion postponed as Sir Alfred Mond was called away)
