Consideration of a report from the Director of Works submitting estimates for the cost of proposed constructional work to St Mary’s Grave Yard, Bramshott, and requesting authority to proceed to public tender, with resolution:
1) That the Committee be authorised to accept a tender for the supply, erection, and inscribing of Great War Cross type A at a cost not exceeding £820
2) That £120 be contributed from Commission Funds towards the cost of completing the wall on the East Side of the plot, the balance of the cost to be defrayed from private subscriptions.

4. Installation of electric lights at St Omer, Poperinghe, Armentieres and Arras
Consideration of a report from the Director of Works concerning electric lighting for the Commission’s Headquarters and Area Headquarters in France and Belgium, with resolution to recommend:
1) The expenditure of £300 on the purchase of a self-contained petrol engine set for use at the Commission’s HQ at St Omer
2) The expenditure of £300 on the purchase of 3 lighting sets for the use of the Commission’s Area HQs at Poperinghe, Armentieres, and Arras
3) The expenditure of £150 on the purchase of the necessary wire lamps, lamp holders, etc., required for the installation of electric light in Poperinghe, Armentieres, and Arras

5. Experimental work in connection with the use of concrete in cemetery construction in Macedonia
Consideration of a report by the Director of Works submitting a request from the Principal Architect, Mesopotamia, for authority to carry out experimental work with the use of concrete for walling and headstones in the Commission’s cemeteries in Mesopotamia, with resolution to approve:
1) The expenditure of £156 on experimental work in connection with the use of concrete for walling in Mesopotamia
2) The expenditure of £35 on experimental work in connection with the use of concrete for headstones in Mesopotamia

6. Claim by Mr C A Griggs, Foreman Gardener, France

7. Salary of Deputy Director of Works, Mesopotamia
Consideration of a letter from the Deputy Director of Works, Mesopotamia, requesting an increase in his salary and in the travelling and subsistence allowances of Commission officers stationed in Mesopotamia, Persia, and India, with resolution not allowing either request but offering the Deputy Director of Works the opportunity to convert his sterling salary into a rupee salary

8. Enquiry Bureaux, France
Consideration of a report form the Controller of Administration relative to the establishment of an Enquiry Bureaux at the Commission’s Area HQs in France and Belgium, submitting details of the personnel proposed to be appointed and estimates of the monies required to defray the cost of the remuneration of such personnel and of the maintenance and establishment charges in connection with the Bureaux for the period ending March 31st 1921, with resolution to approve:
1) The appointment as and when required of an Enquiry Bureaux Manager (salary £500 – 25 - £600) and five Clerks in charge of Enquiry Bureaux (salary £350 - 15 - £400)
2) The expenditure of a sum not exceeding £930 to defray the cost of maintenance and establishment charges in connection with setting up the Enquiry Bureaux

9. Horticultural and Miscellaneous Estimates, Italy
Consideration of a letter from the Deputy Director of Works, Italy, submitting estimates of the cost of horticulture and of certain miscellaneous establishment charges in Italy, with resolution to recommend:
1) The expenditure of £1843 to defray the cost of miscellaneous establishment charges of the Commission in Italy for the period 1st April 1920 to 31st march 1921
2) The expenditure of £835 to defray the cost of Horticulture in Italy for the same period

10. Running Expenses of Mechanical Transport in France and Belgium
Consideration of a letter from the Chief Accountant, France, relative to the cost of the Commission’s Mechanical Transport in France and Belgium and submitting statements of expenditure incurred for the quarters ending 30th June 1920 and 30th September 1920 respectively and estimates of the cost of such mechanical transport for the quarter ending 31st December 1920, with resolution to recommend:
1) The expenditure of £4000 to defray the cost of the running expenses of the mechanical transport in France and Belgium for the quarter ending 30th September 1920.
2) The expenditure of £2500 to defray the cost of the running expenses of the mechanical transport in France and Belgium ending 30th June 1920
3) The expenditure of £10000 to defray the cost of the running expenses of the mechanical transport in France and Belgium for the quarter ending 31st December 1920.

11. Additional Personnel for London Office
Consideration of reports from the Controller and Financial Adviser submitting a plan for the organisation of the London Office of the Commission and requesting authority for the appointment of additional personnel, with resolution to appoint two 1st Class Clerks (salary £650-25-£750) and five Male Clerks Grade 3 (salary 70/- 2/6 – 77/6) to the Commission’s HQ staff in London

12. Graves in Holland
Consideration of a report from the Director of Works submitting estimates of the cost of the scheme for the concentrating of graves and constructional work in cemeteries in Holland approved by the Commission at their 26th meeting, with resolution to approve:
1) The expenditure of florins 24500 to defray the cost of concentrating 59 graves into s’Gravesande, 39 graves into Nordwijk, and 5 graves into Flushing Cemeteries respectively
2) The expenditure of florins 2564 on the purchase of grave sites in perpetuity at Nordwijk, Groningen, Amersfoort, Nijmegen Cemeteries, respectively, and florins 1500 on the purchase of grave sites for a period of 30 years at s’Gravesande Cemetery
3) The expenditure of florins 1498 on the removal of graves to perpetual grave sites within these respective cemeteries
4) The expenditure of florins 24880 to defray the cost of the supply and erection by Messrs. Keuzencamp of the Hague, Holland of 311 headstones
5) The expenditure of florins 7400 on the supply and erection by Messrs. Keuzencamp of a memorial cross at Nordwijk, s’Gravesande, Flushing and the Hague Cemeteries respectively
6) The expenditure of florins 6234 on contingencies arising out of the carrying out of those works provided that the total estimated cost of £6068 be not thereby exceeded
7) That it be the recommendation to the Commission that the necessary exchange to cover liabilities of the Commission in connection with these works be purchased up to a limit of £6068

13. Expenditure to March 31st 1921, Gallipoli
Consideration of a letter from the Deputy Director of Works, Gallipoli, submitting estimates cost of the salaries, wages, and expenses of the Commission’s Establishment in Gallipoli, with resolution to recommend:
1) The expenditure of £12019 to defray the cost of the Commission in Gallipoli 1st October 1920 to 31st March 1921
2) The appointment of a Pump Engineer and Blacksmith (Salary £90 p.a.) to the staff of the Deputy Director of Works, Gallipoli,

14. Establishment of Secretary General Anglo-Belgian Mixed Committee
Consideration of a report from the Controller of Administration requesting the appointment of additional personnel to the Staff of the Secretary General of the Anglo-Belgian Committee, with resolution to appoint a Shorthand Typist (Salary Frcs. 300 p. mensem.) to the Secretary General’s Staff

15. Return of Wooden Crosses to relatives and next-of-kin
Consideration of a letter form the Director of Works requesting authority to return a Wooden Cross from Forceville Cemetery to the next of kin, with resolution to approve the expenditure of 16/6d to defray the cost of returning 1 wooden cross from Forceville Cemetery to the next of kin

16. Request from Messrs. The Enterprises Somerville regarding contract 1920.A
Consideration of a letter from the Land and Legal Adviser regarding a request from Messrs. The Enterprise Somerville to be made advances on worked stone standing in sub-contractors’ yards under clause 31 of the conditions of the contract, with resolution to advance Messrs. The Enterprises Somerville a sum equal to 50% of the contract price on the fulfilment of certain conditions

17. Travelling and Subsistence Allowances for the Vice-Chairman and General Sir Herbert Cox
Consideration of the scale of travelling and subsistence to be paid to the Vice-Chairman and General Sir Herbert Cox on their visit to the East on behalf of the Commission, with resolution that such travelling and subsistence allowances be paid to the Vice-Chairman and General Sir Herbert Cox as may be agreed upon with the Treasury.
