Authority to purchase instruments etc in open market Consideration of letter form the Director of Works concerning the transfer of purchasing functions hitherto exercised by the Ministry of Munitions had been transferred to the Army Council and requesting authority to purchase in the open market thw supplies hitherto obtained through the Ministry of Munitions, with resolution giving authority to the Director of Works to make such purchases.

Expenditure for IWGC East Africa Consideration of report from Controller of Administration requesting authority for the appointment of additional personal on the staff of the Deputy Director of Works, East Africa with resolution to recommend: 1) The creation of 2 Motor Transport Driver and 2 Office Boy appointments for the establishment of the Commission in East Africa 2) That the subsistence allowance at the approved rates be paid to Commission staff in East Africa in lieu of billets and rations in hand 3) a. the expenditure of a sum not exceeding £1200 on the purchase of Transport for the sue of the Commision in East Africa b. the expenditure of a sum not exceeding £1500 to defray the cost of repairs and running expenses 4) The expenditure of a sum not exceeding £1000 to defray the cost of rent, fuel, light, water, furniture, stationary and incidental office expenses 5) The expenditure of a sum not exceeding £1200 to defray the cost of certain miscellaneous charges as estimated 6) The expenditure of a sum not exceeding £10100 on cemetery construction 7) That the deputy Director of Works be authorised to draw on the Commission up to the amounts hereby recommended 8) That it be an instruction to the Deputy Director of Works in the case of native labour to conform to the rates paid by the Protectorate Administration

Tenders for construction of Brookwood Cemetery Consideration of a letter from the Director of Works covering and reporting on tender received for the execution of work at Brookwood Cemetery, with resolution: 1) That the tender of the London Necropolis Company of London for the execution of work at Brookwood Cemetery as set out in their tender for the sum of £3519.1.8d. be accepted 2) That the expenditure for a further sum of not exceeding £600 be authorised to meet the cost of contingencies arising out of this contract 3) That the expenditure of a further sum of not exceeding £150 be authorised to meet the cost of additional horticultural work after the completion of the construction

Return of Wooden Crosses to next of kin Consideration of letters from the Director of Works requesting authority to expend certain monies to defray the cost of returning wooden crosses to the next-of-kin of soldiers buried in Forceville, Louvencourt and Le Treport, with resolution to recommend: 1) The expenditure of a sum not exceeding £6.5.6d.. to defray the cost of returning 8 wooden crosses from Forceville Communal Extension to the next-of-kin concerned 2) The expenditure of a sum not exceeding £6.5.6d. to defray the cost of returning 4 wooden crosses from Loucencourt Cemetery to the next-ok-kin concerned 3) The expenditure of a sum not exceeding £4.13.0d. to defray the cost of returning 6 wooden crosses from Le Treport Cemetery to the next of kin concerned

Consideration of a letter from the Controller of Administration reporting a large amount of repair work to be done in the Commission’s MT Workship at St Omer France and requesting authority for the employment of Fitters and Turners, with resolution of the recommendation of the appointment as required of 16 Fitters and Turners on the staff of the Deputy Controller, France
22. Tender for construction of Nab Wood Cemetery Consideration of a letter from the Director of Works relating to the supply and erection of a War Cross at Nab Wood Cemetery, with resolution to recommend: 1) That the offer of the Ladies Committee of the Shipley Soldiers and Sailors Prisoners of War Fund to contribute the sum of £500 towards the supply and erection of a War Cross made in Creetown Granite with fine axed finish be accepted 2) That the tender of Messrs Dawson Bradford for the supply and erection of a War Cross type A1 in Creetown Granite for the sum of $567.0s.0d. be accepted 3) The expenditure of a sum of not exceeding £67 to defray the balance of the cost of the necessary foundations for the said War Crosses 4) The expenditure of a sum not exceeding £39.15s. to defray the cost of the necessary foundations for said War Cross 5) The expenditure of a sum of note exceeding £35.0.0 to defray the cost of contingencies arising out of this contract
23. Cost of carriage of Chinese Headstones Consideration of a letter from the Director of Works reporting that increases in railway freight charges in France, the cost of transport for 1100 headstones to be erected over Chinese Graves had exceeded the sum provided for this purpose by francs 1463.55, with resolution to recommend the expenditure of a sum not exceeding francs 1463.55 to defray the extra cost of carriage on 1100 headstones for Chinese Graves
24. Additions and amendments to IWGC Establishment France Consideration of a letter from the Controller of Administration proposing certain additions and amendments to the Commission’s establishment in France and Belgium, with resolution of recommendation that the additions and amendments be approved and be given effect to as and when the Vice-Chairman may deem it necessary, subject to the estimates for France not being exceeded
25. Contract for construction of 100000 headstones Consideration of a letter from the Director of Works relative to the tenders of Messrs T Hodgkinson & Sons, of Preston, and the Hopton Wood Stone Firms Ltd, for the supply of 100000 headstones, with resolution: 1) That the tender of Messrs Hodgkinson & Sons, of Preston, be accepted for the approximate value £320884.2.0. for the engraving of 100000 headstones 2) That the tender of the Hopwood Stone Firms Ltd. Be accepted for the approximate value of 103551.12.7. for the supply of 100000 headstones 3) That a sum equivalent to about 15% of the total of these two contracts be authorised to cover the cost of transport and contingencies arising out of these two contracts 4) That a sum of £40000.0.0. be authorised to cover the cost of engraving Personal Inscriptions, until such time as monies have been collected from the next-of-kin
26. Appointment of Welfare Worker France Consideration of letter from the Deputy Controller, France, concerning the appointment as a temporary measure of Captain Mullineux as part time Welfare Worker to the Commission staff in France, with resolution to appoint Capt. Mullineux to the Commission Staff in France at a renumeration of £2 a week from 9th May 1920
27. Regrading of salaries IWGC Gallipoli Consideration of a letter from the Deputy Director of Works Gallipoli requesting that the salaries of certain members of his staff be regraded with annual increments and the addition to his staff of a Chief Clerk of Works, with resolution that the salaries and wages fo the Staff of the Commission in that area be regraded as delineated, and that a Chief Clerk of Works be appointed
