Tarrant, Son and Company and Messrs. Sommerville and Company the estimate on which they based their tenders excluding all profit.
2. Purchase of War Crosses for erection in cemeteries in France and Belgium Consideration of a report from the Director of Works submitting detailed estimates for the erection within the current financial year of 40 Ear Crosses Type A1 and 10 War Crosses Type A in the smaller cemeteries in France and Belgium, with resolution (1) that the expenditure of a sum not exceeding £13470 be authorised to defray the cost of the purchase and erection of 50 war crosses, (2) to approve the expenditure of the said sum of £13470 in the delineated manner, (3) to approve that the 50 War Crosses be purchased from Messrs Febre or Messrs Civet Pommier of Paris, or such other firms that are ready to supply them at once, provided the sum of £8900 was not exceeded, and (4) to approve that the said 50 bronze swords be purchased from Messrs Eainbridge Reynolds & Co., provided the sum of £730 was not exceeded.
3. Transport charges for months of February and March Consideration of a letter from the Financial Adviser enclosing bills from the Railway Clearing House for the conveyance of the Commission’s property for February and March 1920, with resolution of recommendation that the bills be passed for payment.
4. Appointment of Major G W Evans, Deputy-Director of Works, East Africa Consideration of a letter from the Controller of Administration requesting that Major G W Evans be compensated for the considerable expenses he had been put to through being detained in London at the request of the Commission, with resolution that the matter be adjourned until the next meeting of the Committee.

Allowances to staff of IWGC, Palestine Consideration of a letter from the Controller of Administration reporting that the Deputy Director of Works, Palestine had requested the grant of special subsistence allowances to himself and members of his staff due to the unusual expenses they were put to after their arrival in Jerusalem, with resolution that the Deputy Director of Works, the Quantity Surveyor, the Foreman of Works, the Superintendent Clerk. The Draughtsman, and the Motor Driver employed on the staff of the Commission in Palestine be granted a special subsistence allowance of £1 per night from the 28th December 1919 until the 19th January 1920.

Proposals of Sub-Committee on Cemetery Registers Consideration of the Minutes of the meeting of the Sub-Committee on Cemetery Registers on the 2nd June 1920, with resolution (1) to approve the proposals of the Sub-Committee resolved at the meeting of the 2nd June 1920, (2) the expenditure of a sum of £1000 on the designing, printing and binding of further cemetery registers in addition to the sum of £1000 already authorised
8. Expenses of IWGC Establishment, Berlin Consideration of a letter from the Controller of Administration requesting authority to pay the salaries and expenses of the Commission’s staff in Berlin, with resolution to recommend (1) the expenditure of a sum of 1400 marks per month to defray the salaries of two women clerks employed on the staff of the Commission in Berlin for the period April to July 1920, (2) the expenditure of a sum of 150 marks per month to defray the cost of hiring a typewriter for the sue of the Commission’s staff, and (3) the expenditure of a sum of 1000 marks per month to defray the cost of the incidental expenses of the Commission’s staff in Berlin.

Salary of Mr S S Pringle, Chief Clerk, France Consideration of a report from the Financial Adviser relative to the salary of Mr S S Pringle, Chief Clerk, France, following the regrading of salaries on 1st January 1920, with resolution to recommend that the Controller of Administration be authorised to assess the salary of Mr S S Pringle at £350/50/450 if, having regard to the circumstances of his appointment this is necessary.
10. Expenditure of IWGC, Gallipoli for period 1st April 1920 to 30th September 1920 Consideration of a report from the Deputy Director of Works, Gallipoli, setting out the headings and the amount necessary to be expended to defray the salaries, wages and expenses of the Commission’s staff in Gallipoli, with resolution that the officer be authorised to expend (1) a sum not exceeding £12570 for the half year 1st April 1920 to 30th September 1920, (2) to expend unused portions of sums authorised during the year 1919-1920 on huts, tents, quarters, lighter and towing launch, and road repairs.

Additional Staff for Appointments Branch Consideration of a letter from the Controller of Administration requesting authority to appoint an additional Second Class Clerk Grade B on the Staff of the Appointments Branch, London, with resolution of approval of the appointment of an additional Second Class Clerk.
12. Question of Perpetual Concessions in Communal Cemeteries in France Consideration of a letter from the Land and Legal Adviser requesting authority to employ Major Cart de la Fontaine, OBE, to visit the Maires of Communes in France in connection with the granting of perpetual concessions in Communal Cemeteries and for authority to pay him a salary and defray his travelling and incidental expenses, with resolution to refer the matter to the Commission at their meeting.
13. Appointment of Captain M S Briggs Consideration of a report from the Controller of Administration requesting that the employment of Capt. M S Briggs in a consulting capacity in connection with the architecture of the Commission’s work in Egypt be reviewed after a period of 6 months, and that the appointment be continued for a further period of 6 months, with resolution that Capt. M S Briggs be employed in this capacity until 1st November 1920.
14. Transport of Stationary for IWGC, Palestine Consideration of a report from the Director of Works requesting authority to expend a sum of £16 to defray the cost of the transport from London of four cases of stationary for the use of Commission staff in Palestine, with resolution to give authority for the expenditure of £16 for this purpose.
