Consideration of a report from the Deputy Controller, France, concerning expenditure on Motor Transport Running Expenses, with resolution of preliminary authority for expenditure of £10000 for three months.

3. Provision of motor cars and accommodation for distinguished visitors
Consideration of a resolution passed by the Commission (20th April 1920) regarding the provision of touring cars for visitors to France, also a letter from the Principal Assistant Secretary concerning the accommodation for such visitors, with resolution that recommendations be made by the Vice-Chairman and Deputy Controller regarding the provision of entertainment and transport for “Distinguished Visitors”, and temporarily authorising the Deputy Controller 6/- per person to provide meals for “Distinguished Visitors”

5. Authority for expenditure of £50 for advertising contracts for construction of cemeteries in Macedonia
Consideration of a letter from the Controller of Administration regarding expenditure for advertising in newspapers in Greece and Egypt for contracts for the construction of cemeteries in Macedonia, with resolution of authorisation for the expenditure of £50

6. Claim from Railway Clearing House for £90 for carriage for month of January
Consideration of letter from the Director of Works enclosing a bill from the Railway Clearing House for the conveyance of the Commission’s property for the month of January, with resolution authorising the £90 payment

7. Claim for compensation by relatives of Giovanni Volpe
Consideration of a letter from the Controller for Administration concerning the death of Giovanni Volpe after being hit by a Commission car, with resolution that 3000 lire be offered to Volpe’s mother in recognition of her loss

8. Approval of the following:
a) Subsistence allowance for Interpreter, Gallipoli
b) Increased meal allowance for reinforcements on arrival in France
c) Increased wages for cook’s assistant, Gallipoli
d) Authority for £4 for April for Berlin representative
e) T-squares for France
Consideration of various items of expenditure, with resolution that the recommendations contained in items Nos. 8a 8b 8c 8d 8e be approved and that this resolution be immediately effective
a) Recommendation that authority be given for a subsistence allowance to be paid to Sergeant E Morgenstern at the rate of 21/- per week
b) Recommendation that authority be given to increase the meal allowance for reinforcements arriving from England from 3 francs to 3 francs 50 per person
c) Recommendation that authority be given to increase the wages of the Cook’s Assistant from £1 to £1. 3s. 0d. per week
d) Recommendation that authority be given for the sum of £4 for general expenses for April for Major H S P Simon
e) Recommendation that authority be given for an expenditure of a sum not exceeding £10. 5s. 0d. for the purchase of T-squares for France

9. Re-distribution of total sum already authorised for Transport, Stores, re Gallipoli
Consideration of a request from the Deputy Director of Works, Gallipoli for authority to redistribute the total sum already authorised for expenditure on transport, stores, etc, with resolution to reduce the sum authorised for the purchase of a “Crossley” Tender by the sum of £100, and to expend this sum on part payment of the Kelvin Motor Launch

10. Contract for 100000 headstones
Consideration of a report from the Director of Works regarding an offer he received from Messrs. Hodkinson & Sons and the Hopton Wood Stone Firms, Limited, for the supply of 100000 mechanically engraved headstones, with resolution that the Director of Works was instructed to arrange a modification to the terms of the contract offered so that the first 25000 stones should be supplied at the price offered, and that any profit in excess of 10% should the shared equally between the Contractor and the Commission

11. Cardiff Cemetery re tenders for construction
Consideration of a letter from the Director of Works concerning the supply and erection of a War Cross and the construction of a path in Cardiff City Cemetery, with resolution authorising the Director of Works to obtain tenders for the supply and erection of a War Cross and the construction of a path at a total cost not exceeding £550

12. Treasury circular 13036/20 re revised scales of pay for temporary clerks and typists
Consideration of a letter from the Controller of Administration confirming the revised scales of pay, with resolution that the revised scales of pay be authorised and confirmed
