Sir George Macdonogh took the chair in Sir Fabian Ware’s absence.
Copies of the Annual Report for 1931-32 were sent to Commission members. No questions were asked.
Report of visit by the Third Cruiser Squadron visit to Gallipoli. Some 450 officers and men visited the battlefields and cemeteries. The local Turks were friendly and didn’t hinder access. The cemeteries were reported to be in very good condition.
Report presented of Mr Spens visit to France, where he had attended the annual gathering of the Arras-Cambrai Social Club.
Reports Of The 217th And 218th Meetings Of The Finance Committee Exchange relief would be extended to close to the end of the Financial Year. The matter would need to be reviewed carefully for the following year.
Appointment Of Additional Member To Staff Committee Following repeated difficulties in having a quorum for this Committee, it was proposed to appoint a further member, and this was agreed. The High Commissioner for South Africa was appointed to this position.
Cemetery and Memorial Registers Two Cemetery Registers and one Memorial Register had been published since the previous meeting. This brough the number to 930 and it was reported that there a further 16 or 17 still to be published.
